lucky clover
My grandmother had the most amazing ability to find four leaf clovers...I've found them pressed between pages of letters between her and my grandfather during the war; in pages of novels; on postcards and amongst her jewellery. For the last three days I've found a four leaf clover and then another again today.
I know my grandmother is with me on this little journey of mine...it warms my heart and gives me great comfort x

january...
has been unbelievably hot...the sticky, muggy, can't-get-comfortable kind of hot!
finding 'cool' with the blues around me...
the sea so beautiful
and flowers gathered from the garden against my blue wall
January has been kind...new beginnings and little celebrations.
This year holds hope of all sorts of wonderful.
Wishing you happy in the months ahead too x

nature's lessons...
Despite being battered and bruised in the ferocious hail storms we experienced a few weeks ago, these beauties are flourishing…a lesson for us all perhaps.

posies and prints
Oh my! What fun we had! The loveliest of corners in the prettiest spring garden you ever did see...what could be more perfect for a posy pop-up?
So very grateful for all those beautiful friends that came to say hello...each and every one of you made my day. And my dear friend Sarah...I'm inspired and encouraged more than ever...thank you x
(ps aren't Sarah's words beautiful in every way?)

posy pop-up
I'm so very excited to share my 'little bit of wonderful' with you...
My dear friend Sarah and I have been planning this little posy pop-up for quite some time. We have shared ideas and schemed and plotted what we could do over many cups of tea and sweet treats. It's been so fun and we're delighted to share the results this coming Saturday, 28 September.
We have the most beautiful setting...Sarah's parent's garden which is part of the Open Garden Trail on Tamborine Mountain. There will be morning and afternoon tea - Sarah's gorgeous mum makes the most delicious treats...you really must try each and every one! And of course, their garden is food for the soul...so many pretty blooms and tranquil corners to explore. Do hope you can join us!
Springtime on the Mountain - Open Gardens Trail

pretties...
There is nothing I like more than arranging flowers from my garden...
A florist...yes, that's what I like to be when I grow up!
{if only you I could share the fragrance too}

rippled ceilings...
I imagine fairies live in toadstools...but the sweet little button kind, all red on top with white polka dots. Maybe it's the pixies that live in these tiny ones...I do so love their rippled ceilings.
I've looked ever so hard to see, but they are hiding from me...
I adore how the garden comes alive after the rain, that teeny tiny things sprout up and are just so perfect. Perfectly unusual and unique...

kwaheri 'shamba yango'
Goodbye sweet home on the hill.
So many memories...
some of the happiest moments,
laughter and celebrating and milestones.
some of the saddest times too.
But always there was love within in your walls,
the greatest love of all,
family love.
