sabine pick..

I went to Byron Bay last Friday for a gorgeous morning of calligraphy...a workshop with Sabine Pick in the loveliest of settings.  Atlantic Byron Bay is walking distance to the sea yet quietly nestled on the outskirts of town...bliss.  The sweetest of discoveries I may have explore a little more.

Lettering artist Sabine Pick’s calligraphy style is described as contemporary with a whimsical twist.   She is the loveliest of lovely...patient and so very eager to share her artistry with others.  She encourages the philosophy of  'perfectly imperfect' and embraces individuality, finding beauty in each flourish.  It was so lovely to meet her, to chat and to revive my love for hand lettering...

This coming Saturday I will join Sabine again at Maybelle Imasa-Stukul's Brisbane workshops...I feel like a child waiting for Christmas...I can't wait!

The key to this beautiful art is practice...I'm going to try my very best to do that at least every second day!

{A big thank you to Nikki of Paperrunway who organised and hosted this wonderful workshop}

turning...

changes in the leaves..vibrant greens turning to gold, to the richest of reds and then finally falling to the ground...crisp and brown under foot.

Little snippets of autumn captured whilst wandering with Molly this morning.

brown paper packages...

tied with string...one of my favourite things!

I'm just a tiny bit excited about Maybelle's fabulous calligraphy workshop here in Brisbane at the end of the month.  She inspires me so and it will be such a treat to finally meet her in person...she is such a kind and generous soul and her work is exquisite.

When I saw this issue of Hearth magazine I knew I had to take a peek inside.  Oh my, the pages in between this beautiful cover are just divine.   But truly, when it arrived, I just had to savour the packaging...so simple yet so perfectly wonderful (that seal...what a lovely touch!).

There are so many amazing publications out at the moment...it's hard to resist the temptation to collect each and every issue.  I tell myself, once in a while, an escape with some wholesome goodness and a nice cup of tea is a joy to be cherished!
